Using the Birch Glass Plant Pot Mold, you’ll build the pot in two halves before joining them together to complete the piece.
The finished decorative pot measures approximately 14.5cm high x 18.5cm wide (5.7" x 7.3"), with a rim diameter of 12cm (4.7"). It’s the perfect fit for a 4" plastic nursery pot to sit inside.
⚠️ Please note: The finished stained glass pot is decorative only. Always place a plastic nursery pot inside, and when watering, remove it to drain fully before returning it to the glass pot.
The mold is designed for tack soldering only. Prolonged exposure to high heat may cause damage or warping. ALWAYS REMOVE THE GLASS FROM THE MOLD BEFORE FILLING SOLDER SEAMS. The mold is made of PETG.
FAQ:
1. How big is the finished project?
The finished pot is approximately 14.5cm high x 18.5cm wide (5.7" x 7.3"), with a rim diameter of 12cm (4.7").
2. How much glass will I need for this project? For the entire project, you'll require 2-3 hobby-sized sheets of glass, each measuring 30.5 cm × 20 cm (12″ × 8″). Always make sure you have more glass than the pattern requires, just in case of any breakages while cutting.
3. Do you ship internationally?
Yes we ship worldwide from here in the UK! Please review our shipping policy for more information.
For our US customers, the new US tariff fee is already included in the shipping cost, so there won’t be any surprise payments upon delivery.
4. What tools do I need for this project?
You’ll need the usual tools and materials for any copper foil stained glass project. We include a detailed tools and materials list within the tutorial.
5. Can I sell my plant pot once it's completed?
Absolutely! You're free to do whatever you like with your creations. The pattern comes with both hobby and commercial use rights, we just ask that you don't sell or distribute the pattern or tutorial itself.
6. How many plant pots can I make with this set?
The mold is reusable, so you can create as many plant pots as you’d like! You'll just need extra materials for each new project. We include a pre-cut vinyl pattern and a paper pattern, so you can make a whole collection of pots if you'd like! Please note: it's important to clean the mold after each use!
7. Is the Plant Pot Mold Kit suitable for beginners?
While I wouldn't recommend a 3D project for total beginners, if you've got a few projects under your belt and are ready for a fun challenge, the sky’s the limit! Our detailed tutorial and video will guide you through each step of the process.
